Swaccha Belaku, in collaboration with BBMP, is on a pioneering mission to transform India’s approach to urban cleanliness, driving India’s first 7-star zone initiative under the Swachh Bharat guidelines. This project strives for litter-free spaces and scientifically managed waste, ultimately reducing about 70,000 tons of carbon emissions per year. The result? A clean, visually appealing environment with a visible commitment to sustainable urban living.

The objective was to design a trifold brochure to communicate this vision clearly and effectively. With simplicity and brand consistency as the only guidelines from the client, I began by grounding the design in Swaccha Belaku’s colour palette.
To ensure seamless readability and visual appeal, I alternated the brochure pages between white and green from the brand palette. This not only created a visually engaging layout but also allowed the reader to easily distinguish between different sections, minimising any potential confusion.
The selection of imagery was also key. Choosing an impactful image that would immediately resonate with the audience was essential in visually conveying the project's mission. To perfect the experience, a prototype of the brochure was created to refine the layout, readability, and overall user journey. Every aspect of the design was carefully tested to ensure seamless readability.

Thoughtful attention was given to the content layout, font sizes, and hierarchy to maintain clear readability and guide the reader through the information effortlessly.
By aligning each design choice with Swaccha Belaku’s vision, the final brochure became a tool that not only informed but inspired, leaving a lasting impression of the organisation’s ambitious commitment to a cleaner, greener future.
