brand engagement
Slikk is a fast-fashion and lifestyle retail platform based in Bangalore, built around speed, style and convenience. Known for delivering trendy apparel, accessories and essentials in under 60 minutes, the brand brings together quick commerce and curated lifestyle shopping for young, fashion-conscious consumers.
With a strong focus on memorable customer experiences, Slikk continues to create moments that go beyond transactions.
Their bold identity and vibrant product range make the brand stand out in a competitive retail space, especially among audiences looking for both efficiency and personality.
For Diwali 2025, the objective was to create a custom deck of playing cards as a festive giveaway that would strengthen Slikk's customer engagement while reflecting the brand's lively and confident image. The project involved conceptualising a complete visual system, including all 54 cards, card backs and packaging, resulting in a fully production-ready set.
The challenge was to move past traditional festive merchandise
and create something that felt premium, culturally relevant and closely connected to the brand itself.

Building a collectible that
felt festive & functional
CHALLENGE
A giveaway that felt memorable beyond the festival
Diwali giveaways often rely heavily on familiar festive symbols, which can make them feel repetitive and easy to forget. The challenge was to create something that celebrated the occasion while also serving a stronger brand purpose.
The playing cards needed to feel visually exciting and premium, while subtly introducing customers to Slikk’s wider product range. The final result had to balance festive appeal, usability and strong brand recall without feeling overly promotional.
SOLUTION
Developing a visual system rooted in culture
The creative direction began with extensive research into existing Diwali-themed playing cards to identify opportunities to create something more distinctive.
Instead of relying only on traditional motifs, the numbered and
suit cards were built around products available on Slikk’s platform, including fashion, beauty, footwear, jewellery and home décor. This approach allowed the deck to function as both a festive product and a subtle introduction to the brand’s offerings, helping strengthen familiarity and recall through repeated use.
The face cards took a more culturally expressive route, featuring Indian men and women in traditional attire. Kings and Queens were illustrated in royal festive clothing, while Jacks carried a simpler traditional look. This created a strong festive connection while maintaining the playful and energetic personality.
Rather than using vector artwork, the cards were created through hand painted illustrations, giving the deck a more premium and rich feel.
The colour palette was inspired by the vibrancy of Indian truck art, bringing in bold colours and an instantly recognisable ethnic character while still feeling modern and aligned with Slikk’s visual identity and language.
Several styles, typography routes and layout options were explored before finalising the approved direction. Multiple rounds of testing and mockups helped refine readability, balance and usability.
The packaging and card backs were then developed to unify the entire deck, creating a cohesive and elevated final product.

OUTCOME
A festive product that strengthened connection & recall
The final playing card deck delivered more than a seasonal giveaway. It became a memorable brand experience that celebrated Diwali while introducing customers to Slikk’s product ecosystem in a thoughtful and engaging way.
The completed set of cards successfully balanced function with creativity, offering something playful, premium and meaningful. It reflected Slikk's personality while giving
the customers a keepsake that extended the interaction beyond a single purchase. The client was highly satisfied with the final outcome, as the project served both festive engagement and brand-building goals with equal impact.

Crafted to be remembered
beyond the occasion
This project showed how packaging and print can transform a simple giveaway into something meaningful. By combining cultural relevance, strong storytelling and purposeful brand integration, the final deck created a deeper customer connection and a stronger visual presence for Slikk. The result was a festive experience designed not just to be used, but remembered.
