YUSUF BIN AHMED KANOO

Building a distinct identity for KANWEAR

Creating a logo for Kanoo’s new workwear division that balanced regional relevance, brand consistency, and a strong industrial presence

KANWEAR

A new identity
rooted in legacy

Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo (YBAK)  is one of the Middle East’s largest independent family-owned multinationals, with a diverse presence across shipping, logistics, travel and industrial services. Known for its legacy of quality and innovation, Kanoo continues to expand its portfolio through specialised ventures built to serve evolving industry needs.

KANWEAR was introduced as a new subdivision focused on manufacturing high-performance workwear and safety gear for high-risk industries. As part of the Kanoo group, the brand required a visual identity that felt distinctive while remaining aligned with the parent company’s established brand language.

The objective was to create a logo that reflected reliability, durability and trust, while maintaining consistency with Kanoo’s existing visual guidelines across colour, tone and overall brand presence.

CHALLENGE

Creating distinction within an established legacy

Developing a new identity within a long-established parent brand required careful balance. The logo needed to feel fresh and recognisable for KANWEAR, while still fitting seamlessly within Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo’s broader brand ecosystem.

Consistency across colour palette, visual language and brand perception was essential to ensure immediate trust and credibility.

SOLUTION

Designing a symbol rooted in strength & regional relevance

Inspired by the Saker Falcon — a symbol of strength, resilience and heritage across the Middle East, the mark was designed to carry strong regional significance while reinforcing the values of protection and reliability.

The use of blue and yellow colour palette, reflecting trust, reliability and familiarity within the Kanoo brand ecosystem.

To reflect KANWEAR’s commitment to protection and performance, the falcon was designed using sharp lines and structured forms. This modern interpretation reinforced both durability and forward-thinking design, while maintaining strong visual relevance to the region.

OUTCOME

A logo designed for trust, recognition & longevity

The project delivered more than a logo, it created a visual identity rooted in purpose, regional relevance and long-term usability.

By aligning KANWEAR with Kanoo’s legacy while giving it a strong independent voice, the brand was able to enter the market with clarity, confidence and a design system built for scale. The logo captured the values of safety, quality and reliability while creating a strong visual foundation for the subdivision’s future growth.

It delivered a cohesive brand presence that aligned with Kanoo’s wider portfolio and strengthened KANWEAR’s role as a trusted provider of high-quality workwear for demanding industrial environments.

Designed for recognition

The final mark delivered more than visual consistency — it created a symbol of reliability and purpose. By combining cultural significance with a modern industrial aesthetic, the identity strengthened KANWEAR’s positioning in the market and provided the client with a brand asset that felt both meaningful and scalable.
