Ascendion planned a golf networking event as an opportunity to connect with industry leaders and clients, centering around the theme “Progress Isn’t a Straight Line.” Inspired by this theme, the objective was to conceptualise and design the event’s visual language and supporting collateral to visually represent the idea of non-linear progress.

Drawing inspiration from the intricate visual storytelling style of Inception (2010), directed by Christopher Nolan, I developed a design that reflected the theme with layered perspectives, visually depicting progress as a dynamic journey.
This approach was crafted to offer a literal yet captivating representation of the theme, portraying progress as a journey that twists and turns rather than a direct path.

The two-part composition featured two woven perspectives: an aerial and front view, symbolising advancement with subtle complexity, capturing the viewer’s attention and encouraging deeper engagement with the concept.
The concept’s flexibility allowed it to be expanded into a series of images, making it adaptable across various event collaterals, from standees to banners.

This design approach not only mirrored Ascendion’s aesthetic but also emphasised their unique perspective on growth and innovation, sparking engagement and reflection among attendees.

The final design was met with enthusiastic feedback, celebrating its innovative approach to Ascendion’s mission of redefining progress. The concept’s layered visual storytelling provided a striking interpretation of Ascendion’s values, capturing both attention and curiosity.
Ultimately, the clients decided that for the golf networking event, a more streamlined design that emphasised the messaging would better suit the event’s atmosphere.
Impressed by the versatility of the concept, they proposed it be featured in an upcoming campaign, where the design’s depth could shine, maximising its impact across Ascendion’s brand communications.

Note: This project was completed during my tenure at Zensciences, where I contributed to the design and development of visual assets for the event.
